In 1950 the “Quick Release Disc Type Towing Hook” was designed and still is accepted world-wide as the leading standard by shipyards and tugboat operators. The unique feature of this hook is that when released, the disc will rotate freely until all release energy is absorbed. Hereby a direct impact of the release forces on the hook is avoided. The Mampaey Quick Release Disc Type Towing Hooks are specifically designed for towing with steel wire and nylon/poly-propylene ropes. The Quick Release Disc Type Towing Hooks are approved by various classification societies and available from 5 to 180 Tons Safe Working Load. Higher loads are available upon request.
