Project at Cyprus

A project in Cyprus aims at the newly built construction of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Receiving and Regasification Terminal for importing natural gas on the island and facilitating its use mainly for power generation purposes but also for other future industrial and urban uses. Natural gas (re-gasified LNG) will be supplied initially to the power station.

The project includes the construction of a #jetty on piles and an access trestle which will serve the berthing as well as the loading and unloading procedures of a Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) with a capacity of up to 137,000 m³ LNG and of an LNG Carrier (LNGC) in the area, as well as the associated onshore works (pipelines, meters, buffer zone, etc.).

For this project, Mampaey delivered 8 Quadruple Mooring Hook Units and 4 Double Mooring Hook Units, each with a safe working load of 200 metric tons per hook. Included are a Mooring Load Monitoring System, a Berthing Approach System, an Environmental Monitoring System, a Central Monitoring System, a Remote Control Panel, and our intelligent Multi Safety Link including 4 cable reels for electric and fiber optic SSL communication.
